With thanks for the valued contributions of the leadership and administrative team at Wessex Appraisal Service and tutors of the MA in Medical Education (Appraisal) at Winchester University.
Professional Development Plans are an obligatory part of the appraisal process and form a part of the supporting information, which contributes to the five yearly revalidation recommendation. It is important that every appraisal should be a positive experience with PDPs helping promote quality improvements in patient care. One way in which this can be achieved is by ensuring that all appraisers are highly skilled in the facilitation process.
